RENTAL AGREEMENT

By renting camping equipment from Camp in a Box – Adventure Delivered! ("We," "Us," "Our"), you ("Customer," "You," "Your") agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this Rental Agreement. This agreement helps protect both parties and ensures a smooth, hassle-free experience.

1. Rental Period

Your rental period starts on the first day you plan to use the gear, not the day it is delivered. Shipping days do not count. There is a 2-night minimum. If you return the gear early, you are still charged for the full booked period. Extensions need at least 24 hours notice and depend on availability.

2. Rental Fees & Late Returns

Your gear counts as returned on the day you drop it off with UPS or FedEx, so please keep your drop off receipt. Gear dropped off after the return date is charged a $20 late fee per day. If it is not dropped off within 3 days of the return date, it is considered lost and you will be charged the full replacement cost.

3. Delivery & Shipping

We ship within the United States but do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska. Please provide an address that can receive packages. If you ship to a hotel or campsite, confirm with them before booking that they will accept your package. We schedule delivery before your rental starts, but carrier delays are outside our control. Your box includes a prepaid return label. Repack everything in the original box and drop it off by your return date.

4. Security Deposit & Payment Authorization

A refundable security deposit is required at booking. It is refunded after we receive and inspect the gear, unless there are fees for damage, loss or cleaning.

5. Ownership & Use of Equipment

  • The equipment remains the property of CAMP IN A BOX - Adventure Delivered! at all times.
  • You may not sublease, sell, modify, or transfer the equipment.
  • The gear is to be used only for its intended camping purpose and handled responsibly.

6. Cleaning & Proper Return

  • We handle all laundering and deep cleaning. However, please:
  • Return all items dry, free of food residue, and in good condition.
  • Do not pack wet or damp items to prevent mold.
  • Rinse cookware and utensils before returning.
  • A $25 cleaning/restoration fee applies for excessively dirty or improperly packed gear.

7. Assumption of Risk & Liability

  • You acknowledge that camping involves inherent risks, and you assume full responsibility for the safe use of the rented gear.
  • CAMP IN A BOX - Adventure Delivered! is not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses that may occur while using the rented equipment.

8. Loss or Damage

  • You are responsible for all lost, stolen, or damaged equipment during the rental period.
  • If an item is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, you will be charged the full replacement cost in addition to any rental fees.

9. Equipment Failure or Malfunction

  • If an item fails, malfunctions, or becomes unsafe, stop using it immediately and notify us for assistance.
  • You may not attempt to repair, modify, or alter the equipment.

10. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations are based on your rental start date, the first day of your booked rental period.
  • Cancel 7 or more days before your rental start date and you receive a full refund of your rental fee, shipping fee and security deposit.
  • Cancel 3 to 6 days before your rental start date and you receive a 50% refund of your rental fee. Your shipping fee is not refunded. Your security deposit is fully refunded.
  • Cancel less than 3 days before your rental start date, or after your gear has shipped, and your rental fee and shipping fee are not refunded. Your security deposit is still fully refunded, since no gear was placed at risk.
  • Example: on a $150.77 rental, cancelling 3 to 6 days before your start date refunds $75.39, plus your full deposit.
  • If we cancel your booking for any reason, you receive a full refund of everything you paid.

11. Compliance with Laws

You agree to comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding the use, transportation, and return of the rented equipment.

12. Enforcement & Legal Fees

  • If we need to take legal action to recover rental fees, damages, or replacement costs, you agree to pay all legal fees and collection costs incurred, to the extent permitted by law.
  • This Agreement is governed by the laws of California, and any disputes shall be settled in Ventura County, California.

To the extent allowed by law, both parties waive their right to a jury trial for any disputes arising from this Agreement.

13. Acknowledgment & Agreement

By renting from CAMP IN A BOX - Adventure Delivered!, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Rental Agreement.
